About Therapy

Throughout our lives, we are faced with difficulties that we struggle to overcome. For some, this is due to external factors such as work, school, stress, trauma and loss. For others, it is internal processes such as self-critical thinking, overwhelming anxiety and panic and self-destructive behaviour. Psychotherapy is a way of understanding yourself, and what contributes to your distress.
Clients have an active part to play in their treatment plan and, as such, will be encouraged to take part in out-of-session tasks to consolidate their learning from therapy.

At Psychotherapy Services, I only offer ‘evidence-based’ therapies, ensuring that the best chance of recovery and wellbeing. In particular, I provide cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). These therapies have, time and time again, shown that they are helpful in the treatment of many problems that impact our psychological wellbeing.

If you cancel on the day of the appointment, or fail to attend an appointment without notice, this will be counted as non-attendance, and you will be charged for the session. Likewise, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment without discussing this, it will count as non-attendance and you will be charged.
It will be the client’s responsibility to contact the therapist to arrange further sessions after non-attendance.
Frequent cancellations/non-attendances cause therapy to be disjointed and will result in poorer outcomes.
